Learn an approach to evaluating common electrolyte abnormalities

Recognize how patterns of electrolyte abnormalities correspond to different diseases

Learn to create a differential diagnosis for common electrolyte abnormalities

Learn to think critically using physiology and pathophysiology principles to evaluate laboratory values and improve clinical decision-making.
Objectives:
- Understand the pathophysiology of decreased urinary concentrating ability in the setting of polyuria
- Learn to create a pathophysiology based differential diagnosis for polyuria and hypernatremia
- Differentiate central diabetes insipidus from nephrogenic diabetes insipidus
- Learn to treat diabetes inpidus
